If you use a superlative you don’t have to prove anything because the assumption is that you are claiming to be the same as everyone else.

Bayer Aspirin cannot claim to be better than generic aspirin because they would never be able to prove such an assertion. But if they were called out for saying that they are the best, then their defense would be to make the additional assertion that they are at least equal to everyone else and therefore everyone, except for demonstrably inferior products, is also the best.
